The International Olympic Day was established in 1948 as the anniversary celebration of the establishment of the International Olympic Committee in Paris - with 1st President the Greek DimitriosVikelas - and the decision to revive the Olympic Games with the 1st event in ATHENS 1896.

With more than 200 countries of the world participating in the celebration and more than 40,000,000 participations per year, the International Olympic Day is the largest mass participation sports event in the world and makes the heart of the planet ... beat with Greek rhythms!!

The official event established by the International Olympic Committee to celebrate the Day is the Olympic Day Run.
